I had one of the full length versions ,it was a nicely finished gun but I had a problem with it.If you cycled a round in the chamber and put the gun on half #### and then put the hammer to fullcock and pulled the trigger the round would not go off, if you just cycled the gun and pulled the trigger it would work everytime. I figure there was a problem with the mainspring as I tried different rounds with the same effect.It was too bad as I really liked the gun other than that

I think that was a normal operation of the gun. There’s a YouTube video of a guy that explains the same issue. I’ll try an find it.
 
Winchester 1901 is more interesting. That long lever throw is more worth it using 10 gauge smokeless 2 7/8 inch. Eighteen pellets 0000 buck. Thats is twice the payload 12 gauge 2 3/4 and slightly larger pellets.

Found one. It’s on order from Taylor and Co. Thanks to Prophet River. Was not cheap. But will be a beautiful piece for sure.

Clay was very helpful. Great people there.
