It would still be under 26 but that’s not the issue on these, the issue is that they believe the 9” barrel one to be a handgun, maybe. The 9” mares leg is one of the weirdest arbitrary classifications.

This. It's registered as a handgun, and as such will always be a handgun. Just like a Glock will always be a handgun even if you put it in a shoulder mounting chassis.

It would certainly be interesting to hear them explain their rationale in a court room.

Unfortunate. I guess a 12 it is. Don’t mind the limited range use. Don’t like the registration part

Interestingly some unregistered 9” ones come up here and there. Either they were imported before this interpretation became widespread or they just fell thru the cracks.
