Hey folks,

I was trying to put loctite on my screws in my new Scorpio Mares leg 1892. I did something dumb and removed the spring cover screw. Whatever was retaining it seems to have fallen in to the innards and now the action won't open. I've turned the rifle every which way to see if the little thing loose in the action was binding it but it seems that screw held something that helped the action move. So here is my dilemma. I cannot remove the hammer spring because the action is now frozen closed and I can't access the hammer spring screw... Any ideas? I need to remove some bits so I can get at whatever got loose in there and re-secure it. Stupid! Stupid!

Never mind folks, just watched disassembly YouTube video and disassembled to shake the nut out. People always say the 1892 action is so complex but it doesn't really seem that way... Was pretty easy.

... and why do you think you need to put Loctite on the screws?

Just make sure they are tight and check that once a year ...

Because 2 fell out at the range when shooting it for the first time, and I've had it happen previously on my other 1892. Seems after a 1-200rds they need to be checked. Loctite just makes sure I don't lose any screws. Pretty logical lol

I guess it must be in the quality... I shot a Browning 92 a lot for a couple of years... I tightened the screws once and never had a screw loosen.

I have an early remlin stainless 30 30 the screws come loose and I have to check and tighten them regular. I have several old 93s and 94s the screws never come loose. Not sure if it’s the stainless or what
