Did a search but not much on the Chiappa 1911-22. I bought a used one for the wife to learn on and have had nothing but problems with FTF and FTE with this gun. Not sure how many rounds it had put through with the previous owner but I think he said under 500 and we've put less then 500 through it ourselves. I've tried every brand of 22 LR including CCI minimag which the previous owner recommended. I've narrowed it down to the cheap plastic mags - they have "warped" at the top of the mag. It's gotten so bad that 1 mag won't hold 10 rounds in it without ejecting all of them before I even put it in the gun! So does anyone know of aftermarket mags made of steel for this gun? If not then I'm buying 1 new plastic mag and selling it before it wears out too ha ha!

I bought one in March from Ellwood Epps. It ate everything I fed it without issue. After 600 rounds or so the barrel bushing broke. Sent it back to Ellwoods. It's still there, going on 2 months and no word on when it'll be done. I definately won't buy another chiappa product.

Could you post some pics of the mags, I'm wondering how similar they are to the GSG/Sig 1911-22 mags.

similar problems with mine. One mag was always FTE/FTF, measured the bad mag lips and found the bad mag was too narrow, so I heated it up in some boiling water and stretched it a little,, still doesn't work all the time but much better then before. Also found it to be a fussy eater, likes Federal, hates American Eagle, loves Mini Mag

Thanks for the replies! The gun is locked up in the safe so I found a pic online of the mag. I bought a new magazine (plastic - $26) from our local gun shop but haven't had a chance to see how it works. I also attempted a repair of the 2 factory mags, heated the ejector part of the magazine and carefully straightened it out, also noticed it had stretched at the top (opened up wider) so explains why the rounds kept popping out on their own. They fit into the gun a lot better but time will tell if they still have ftf and fte issues. I'm guessing these mags don't like any heat at all and rapid firing may be what is warping them. Probably going to put it up for sale and pick up a decent quality 22 for the wife and kid when we're at the range, not much fun when it's jamming up at least once every 10 rounds.
