Who has one?
I've been looking to get a small lever in 44mag.
The Chiappa looks really nice, but it is double the price of a Rossi 44 ranch hand rand with an additional full size boyds stock. Not considering that the Chiappa will be more expensive next time it is available.

Is it really worth double?
Is the take-down part working fine? any play?
I have two Rossi Pumas and I'm very satisfied with them, but the looks of the Alaskan is really nice.

Any information is welcome.

Tks

I don't have one but it was on my list. I also have a 44mag Rossi Ranch Hand and added a full length stock. Once I did that the need to upgrade to the Alaskan went away. The takedown feature is nice but the carbine is already so short that I don't think I'll get my money's worth from it. The only time I'd have it broken down would be for transportation and once I get to where I want to go, I'd be assembling it anyway. It appears to be a beautiful well made firearm and still want one (actually I want a similar one in 45-70)

Have a pair of them and the take down is very snug fitting. Hexagon barrel, 12 in long, take down whom else offers this configuration plus hard nickel finish. Some don't care for the large loop lever but it's just part of its charm for me. They swing to point like no other ( longer) rifles, the more you use it the smoother the action gets. I was allso drawn towards the 45/70 ridge runner but try as I might I couldn't justify the price ,then the price of Ammo( well I guess if can afford the rifle) I would imagine it would be quite a kicker to boot.
