Chiappa Big Badger - .350 Legend, 20" [500.271]

It is a bit surprising that single shot's in 7.62X39 are not an option, maybe CVA will add that caliber to their scout line, that would be nice.
A used Baikal is about the only option I can think of, they were around $400 when they were availlable.

Lot's of reasons starting at, it's lighter, it's simpler,cheaper, It reinforces the hunt towards making the first shot count VS quick follow up if needed and it's different.
Most people won't custom load pointy bullets, but you could also do that if it floats your boat a little higher.

Back in your court..... Why not?

I will start with lack of quick follow up shot..... after that I'm at a bit of a loss.
 
Because this little thing is way better for a long trip in the bush and when size and weight are at a premium with your pack weight.
