was showing my dad my Chiappa Little Badger and we went out to plink a couple shots with it.
we had to hit the store on the way out of town as the old man forgot his 17HMR rounds at home.
while he was getting them i noticed some CCI Quiet subsonic rounds so i picked up a box.
$7 and change.
we shot a couple normal CCI Blazers then some of the quiets and holy cow that gun coupled with those shells is scary quiet!
i swear a church mouse farts louder then that combination!

i have a .177 Gamo airgun and its 10 times louder then what we where getting with the Quiets + Little Badger.

i was gonna make a video of it but then figured that it probably wouldnt do much of video to show how quiet it was.

my dad was so impressed with the little badger as a pack gun on the quad he ordered one already.

i wish i had access to one of those sound monitors that the by law cops have so i could get a actual number to share, but if your looking for something quiet to pop small game with then look no further.

on a related side note, tried the quiets in a Ruger SP101 and a Ruger 22/45 Lite and there was no difference between them and the normal Blazers. ya really need a closed bolt long rifle to get the full benefit of them thats for sure.

Quiets were not so quiet from our SBR's but out of my Savage bolts they were noticeably quieter than Subs and when shot from my CZ Lux they were very quiet... unfortunately beyond 25 yards the accuracy sucked... but from the muzzle to 25 yards minute-of-grouse-head is good enough.

Ok really, how accurate are these things? It seems there's a new thread about them every week and it's always positive.

Aside from being quiet, what are their strengths and why did you choose to buy one?

Can anyone talk me into it?

Nobody needs to convince me that I need a good little pack gun. I'm surprised that the Chiappa doesn't' have a cult following and fan boi websites. They look to be extremely adaptable, as safe as it gets.

when im out on my quad its one of 2 ways.
either im loaded down for hunting and my big gun is in the side saddle case and my quad is stacked and covered in chainsaws, extra gas cans, food ect ect ect so its very hard to find a place to stuff a 22. in walks the little badger. it is sooooo compact and small and light im honestly surprised it dosnt float away when not tethered down.
2nd way im out on my quad is when we are out trail riding. so for this everything is off my quad, less is more. so i can chuck the little badger into the front trunk of my polaris and away i go.

that was why i picked it up.
i would have rather picked up the ruger take down as im a ruger fan boy but the chiappa was just so much smaller and easier to pack it was a no brainer.

i would take it hiking with me but thats what my shotgun in its scabbard is for, plus when hiking im more concerned with bears.

my dad got to shoot mine yesterday for the first time.
he ordered one when we got back from the range he liked it so much.
and not because its such a great gun, just because its so compact and light and easy to use.

does that help?

I have a Savage Rascal and use these

I bought five bricks of Quiets and gave them a good workout in a dozen guns... I would use them for grouse or hare hunting... or casual short range plinking... not much else. The accuracy really falls off at 30+ yards... the groups were 3-4 times the size of SV groups out of pretty much every rifle we tried... at 50 yards... forget about 100 yards. BUT, these were not designed as target loads, they were designed as urban plinkers... as luck would have it, the best groups I got with them to 25 yards were in my CZ Lux and FS... which are the two guns I hunt with most. I still have two bricks and will use the rest of the Quiets on small game when on casual fall strolls.

Expensive urban plinkers for $7 a box!

I tried the CCI subsonics in the Badger. Works OK. Got OK accuracy out to 40 yards. As good as I am at iron sights anyway (not great, just OK).
The ones I got were $3.50 for 50. Quiet-22 Lead RN 40gr, 710fps.
I call them quiet-er, still prefer to wear ears though. At least in the Badger, might be quiet enough in a longer gun.

im planning another run to the range this week, ill take one of my bigger bolt guns and try out the quiets and ill take a pic of the target compared to normal blazer at 25, 50 and 100.

if i remember, old, mind going, but ill try.

Wonder if they would have enough juice to cycle a Smith 41

No they won’t cycle out or a Model 41, at least not for me. I have some boxes of 22LR in the quite 710 fps that the box looks the same as the 22LR standard velocity. Well I grabbed a box one time by mistake and they wouldn’t cycle. I went through almost 20 rounds until I figured it out. They were surprisingly accurate at 20 yards and out of the rifles they are good to 25 yards, I have never shot them further.
We have the 22 bullet trap I like to shoot into and it makes a hell of a noise compared to the shot. I have also shot at Basswood trees that were fallen at a good distance and you can hear a delay from the shot to the hit. I don’t have any issue in shooting a few without hearing protection as the noise is very low. So as others have said a good close range rabbit or partridge walking gun. Also they are perfect for new shooters to use as you have next to no recoil or noise out of a handgun or rifle.
