I'm always looking for new training apparatus for my labs. I have remote bumper throwers and use a Retriev-R-Trainer. When I saw the NcStar golf ball launcher something twigged and I ordered one...$30. Golf balls are too small for training purposes. I have a Chiappa Little Badger and the launcher threads onto the end...

...it launches a golf ball about 150 yards...

...after several failed attempts I came up with this...drilled golf ball with carriage head bolt and finishing washer...bolted onto a 1/2" PVC end...glued onto 1/2" PVC pipe...1/2" pipe insulation zip tied through pipe...a plastic disc cut from a crazy carpet to stop the pipe from rupturing the canvas sock...and a canvas sock zip tied on...

...it launches the dummy about 20 yards with the lowest power .22 training blank and minimal recoil...

...works great

***I ONLY SHARE THIS OUT OF INTEREST...ANYONE MAKING ONE OF THEIR OWN DOES SO AT THEIR OWN RISK

...works great as a distractor throw

I put one on an old Savage single shot .22 threaded the brl. screwed on the launcher an presto a non lethal gun for scaring bears. A golf ball will just fall out if you point it down so I put one piece of masking tape around the ball works fine stays in when tipped down. I use .22cal. red ramset blanks, bears really don't like it. And the balls are reusable once the bear has moved on.
