Though it completely flew under the radar for me, it looks like Chiappa has updated to the Little Badger line to include a true takedown. Quick hinge like a side by side, and a folding shoulder 'pad' on the stock. Also seems to come in a nice [cheap] little tube to keep it protected.

Only question I have is when can I get one. Ha

I bought a Little Badger years ago, both front and rear sights were plastic and not even good quality plastic. Everyone says mount an optic, but you might as well buy an actual .22 rifle if your going to do that. This version is super cool and I would buy it if there were decent sights on it.

Love my original, would buy this in a second. When was the release? I'm assuming its not in country yet...

Edit: Looks like it was at Shotshow 2023, so I would bet another year to make it to Canada...

I'm hoping there's a pretty quick turnaround. They've already farmed it out to reviewers, which means it should be ready to go. Well, at least that's what I'll continue to tell myself.

Now, if they could only do this with 9mm ;)

That's cool...I won't fall for it. The original version I owned was junk. Not possible to sight the thing in. Worst wandering group I've ever seen.

Don't hold your breath. Looks like the only changes are to the stock and take down Chicago screw. Same sights, barrel, etc. The gun is supposed to be 199$ and fun for shooting grouse or pop cans.

If you want accuracy for $200 get a Scorpio.

I wonder if the different stock reduced the weight by more than just a few grams...

Sootch, claims the weight is 3.54lbs and breaks down to 17 1/2' in length for the longest part.

Looks pretty cool, the break down has a knob that you twist abuot 90 deg that allows the receiver to unlock and separate from the barrel and then the butt stock can be folded inline with the single tube.

Still plastic stights and a new plastic trigger guard.

So it's actually HEAVIER? (normal one is like 3.2lb iirc) then I'm out. I'll just keep rocking the Rascal for my grouse gun while big game hunting...

It's possible that includes the storage tube, but there are some extra peices to allow the takedown and folding butt that could weigh more then the missing wire.

I'd never weighed mine before but I just checked it out and it's 2.93 lbs ,without the red dot, but with the added minimalist version of DaverII's 3d printed grip and a thick rubber band around where the bullets are stored in small slots at the butt pad.

For some reason I'm as excited about the storage tube as I am about the gun. I know it would be cost prohibitive but it would be cool if they had one that opened suitcase style so it could be padded inside.

It looks like it's padded on both ends and the threaded top compresses the gun in place so it doesn't rattle around. It would be pretty easy to add some more foam inside the tube running lengthwise if you wanted. Looks like there is some extra room available in the tube for some basic supplies.

It's a pretty cool gun and should sell well for Chiappa.

A 2nd barrel option would be pretty sweet as well. I ended up buying both a .22mag and .22lr but with this gun a 2nd barrel would be easy to mount.
