I've been looking at getting a M1 carbine for a while but not sure if I want one in .30carbine because of the ammo
I know some dealers carry it but its not all that common so I but the idea off. Until I saw the chiappa M1-22 did a little digging and I found this post on M1 forum now I don't know what to think
"I got this email from a friend and was told to forward this to all:
"Hello Justin,
Please inform everyone you know about this! This way we can tell everyone who has bought one or intends on buying one. Tell them to examine the breach end of the barrel and look for a feed ramp machined into the barrel at the 6 o'clock position. If any feed ramp is there, DO NOT shoot the firearm. Return it to Chiappa for warranty service.
The feed ramp extends into the chamber and when a cartridge is fired, allows expansion of the casings at the 6 o'clock position to the point the casings will fail and cause a catastrophic failure in the breach area causing the parts in that area to be damaged or destroyed with a potential of harm to the shooter or bystanders.
P.S. Citadel is a trademark of Legacy Sports."
So if you own or plan on getting the Citadel, M1-22 Made by Chiappa, please be very careful! I don't want to see anyone get hurt."
Has anyone here heard of or had this issue I don't want to buy something to have to return it or worse mash up my face ( I'm kinda fond of it they way it is )
Thanks
