My son and I have shot grouse with a .22lr, 410, antique 12gauge with a 30 inch barrel and my son even took one with an SKS. Now that's getting a little redneck but he did make a clean headshot. My favorite for in the bush this fall was my son's 18.5" remmy 887. Light, short and easy on the recoil.
