Anyone tried any of the recently imported Chinese manufacture 7.62x54R? Comments on accuracy with your PU sniper would be greatly appreciated. So far,Czech stuff is most accurate in mine, but hard to chamber on occasion. Getting under 2" at 100 meters consistently with my so-so shooting ( still figuring out the chin weld needed on these rifles), some old stuff make unknown gets even better groups, 1.5". Those old rifles really can shoot, which amazes me given it's crude finish.

there is some very very nice silver tip light ball Russian stuff on the market now. mine is 71 and 80 dated beautiful stuff. haven't shot it in the sniper yet however, but it does great in svt

It's good ammo, like pretty much all Chinese surplus. It won't be anywhere near commercial stuff, but for surplus ammo you may be pleasantly surprised. I haven't shot enough of it to say much more than that.

I have a crate of '77 production Chinese. I've shot through maybe half of it and had about 10 misfires out of the 440 rounds. Not light primer strikes or anything like that, just doesn't want to go boom. To be fair, all 10 came out of one paper pack of 20, so maybe a batch that got damp before being sealed? I have no idea why, but other than that one pack, it's been all gravy. I don't shoot for precision (just try to hit vital sized targets at 50, 100 and 200 yrds) so I couldn't tell you my groupings.

If you want the best from your PU sniper you need to load for it. My experience is that they don't like being free floated either. look up "corking a mosin" on google.
