With the skyrocketing costs of reloading supplies these days (this could apply to loaded ammo as well), I've been wondering about other options. As we all know, manufacturing in China has come a long way recently. This leads me to wonder if China has loading supplies for export. Does anyone have any information regarding this? I'm thinking if we could get powder and primers from China, the price would be significantly lower than we're getting gouged for by the US manufacturers/laws. Any thoughts?

For powder

and for bullets, brass and primers

Good products and with the exchange rate it should be very afordable.
If only sombody would be willing to import this to Canada, I know you can buy loaded ammo in the US

Some Chinese guns are fun, but reloading is about consistency. Could be a lesson in frustration!:)

These are wise words heyrosco, I've worked in China for extended periods and the recent news items concerning quality/safety issues with Chinese product comes as no surprise. They are indeed leapfrogging into the 21st century, technically speaking but remain pragmatic to a fault. Quality assurance and control are serious concerns.

Not sure what to think about that idea, I'm all for saving money, but primers are dangerous enough even from companies with solid quality control depts.

Yeah reloading supplies like all the rest of the junk from China is something i would not trust. Besides we have already sent all our manufacturing jobs over there and destroyed our economy might as well turn over our weapons making ability as well.

I went halves on a case of Norinco 5.56 ammo a few years ago and won't touch the stuff again. Inaccurate, inconsistent and smelled like poo. I gave most of it away.

Trusting reloading components from China? Not likely.

Well I wouldn't write them off quite that fast. I'm sure they could manage "plinking grade" component bullets, for instance.

if we could at least get bullets
i don't think there's much to be worried about in the quality of bullets
specially for people who are new and are not seeking supreme accuracy

Always used handloaded quality components where accuracy was needed . When the Norc 5.56 was available , plinked 2,000 of them downrange w/ NEVER a hitch ,non corrosive, all went bang, & ejected in the usual way , matter of fact , still using the boxed brass for spray & pray loads now ( X 5 loadings).
If components were attainable & cheap, I personally would have No problem , as always applying caution of course.

I talked with armscore in the phillipeans about getting some fmj for the reloading market they are booked solid till the second quarter of 2010 and if your not on there books they arent taking new customers same applies to european companies...

Last order placed at federal for goverment contract was 1.4 billion 223... to give you an idea about what is being currerntly used in conflicts around the world. That was one company... all of them are booked.

Yeah hopefully they would have a high quantity of lead in them. What will they use in paint, toys and food?

They put lead in kids toys so maybe babypowder in reloading powder, stay the hell away from china and their products they`re bad news in my opinion.

And you would be safe knowing that the materials were not made by the future enemy of our country, but by sweet little children...

I've already bought and used Chinese powder. A number of years ago Accurate Arms 2495BR powder was made in China. Nothing substandard about it, it was great powder.

Anyone that used that powder would never forget the smell. One of the ingredients must have been perfume. Like you said though, it was an excellent powder.
