Chinese Sks 239.99$

Does it have the chromed bore? I bought more than one a few years ago when they were plentiful. While the bolt carrier is not as polished as the Russian ones is a bit of a disappointment, the overall quality is very good.

416. Factory 016 doesn't exist... was a mistake in interpreting the factory marking. This information comes from Kengs down in the US that imported most of these 416 models.

It seems that the code /016\ exists:

That's wrong. Was guessed at when drafted, proven wrong with import documentation received from the US importer. 016 is actually 416 misinterpreted.

There were a lot ID'd chinese arsenal markings that were identified incorrectly in the past. Sks files dot com has covered them pretty well and parsed them down to verified markings.

The 416 guns were imported heavily by Kengs in Atlanta Georgia. Many were misinterpreted as 016 for the triangle. Kengs can verify each and every gun they have imported in the past by serial number.

The picture above is old info. State Arsenal 416 is in Jing-AN, China

Arsenal 625 doesnt exist either. But people still call there 256 guns that. The crates the "625" guns came in were even marked for arsenal "256" with it written numerically, not in a triangle, on the side of the crate.

016 and 416 are both there and they don't look alike. If a 416 exists it does not nullify the existence of 016 which is quoted in a number of documents online.

And 256 is listed up on that sheet at 625. But it is also wrong and is 256 as documented on the pictures of the crates those specific models came out of. Freshly shipped from China.

I've pointed you in the direction of the best information we now have. If you want to follow the old assumptions based on guess work that's all up to you.

Those quotes online all stem from the same two researchers and it just kept getting repeated. Their research was guessing at what the marking read, like much of their marking interpretations.

Like I said, go check out sks files dot com and actually look into the current, evidence based research. Or not.

016 and 416 are the same arsenal mark. The 016 is a mistake in reading the marking. If you remove the stock you can see the bottom extension of the 4.

I did check the recommended website and I didn't see any scientific evidence proving that the code #016 has never existed. The symbols for "0" and "4" are so close to one another that it's really difficult to make a final judgement. It is also INTERPRETATION of the author of that said website. Unless Comrade Xi Jinping would not confirm that the code #016 has never existed in the PRO, I'm still entitled to believe that that said code MAY have existed :)
