Chinese SKS Gas tube cover pin help.Please

I purchased a Chinese red fiberglass stock and handguard.Stock fit but I cant get the damb pin out of the Gas tube handguard.Anyone have any experience/suggestions?Dave

You have to use a tiny drift punch and knock it out.
The stock kit might come with a new roll pin to replace it with.
Some are very tight.... Careful....

When I did one a few years back I needed to really hammer it out.

Also, the fiberglass hand guard was slightly too long and required minor fitting of the metal ends.

Put a new ping in and hammered both ends slightly on a vice to get a bulge and secure it.

Just hammer out and replace with right size dia. Flat head finish nail cut to length and peened on one end - done

One end of the pin is flared, make sure you're punching the opposite end...

Both ends are flared because its a rivit.... if you simply use a drill bit to remove just the head on one side, it with all but fall out.
