I am looking for information on Chinese SKS, I have a "few" Russian SKS but never did get into the Chinese varieties. Can anyone who knows a bit about them tell me which are more desireable and what factories/ markings look like. Also has anyone ever gotten a refurb Chinese SKS? Any information would be great.
I looked through Currtons sticky up top and it was helpful but the pics are all timed out.
Cheers Bob

This is my Chinese SKS Type 56 produced around 1970 in a factory 306. Some say it’s pretty rare but I’m not sure. It’s not really a refurb, seems to be like new, one or two dents on the wood from storage. The barrel is chrome lined, with an excellent rifling and the bolt seems to be stainless steel. Very nice bluing. It has not been shot yet so nothing I can say about its accuracy. All in all, a very nice SKS.

Nice , there are so many different factories and variations! I just started reading on it and the Chinese built a Crapton of SKS!

Most Chinese SKS in Canada have stamped receivers.. /306\ is less common and has Chinese characters on the receiver which is desirable to collectors.
Quality can be hit and miss.. when it comes to their stocks.. but for the most part they are /where brand new and generally shoot tighter groups then most Russian SKS.

The quality doesn't t feel as good.. but does not effect ability to shoot.

As I said earlier, there are so many variations of stocks and bayo's, barrels etc. Which ones are more desireable? So far it looks like the factory 26 soviet/Chinese! And maybe the ones that were sent to Vietnam with the M21 No designation!

/26\ is milled receiver, threaded barrel.. not sure if there are too many of those in Canada

The factory stamp is the place where it was put together, it has no relevance on where the parts were made, nor if they are any better than any other place. The whole factory bla bla bla where it was made is a bunch of koolaide. Don't drink it.

To this day weapons made in China are parted out from many multiple factories of no shared documentation ( as it always has been) and it is kept silent where they originate from. You can jerk off all you want to a factory stamp but it has little meaning.

I am just stating what I have read today and was looking for what is or may be more desireable, not drinking anything but red wine and scotch and only jerk off to Mariah Carey!
Edit: and maybe that chick on Two Broke Girls!

Yea so from what I am reading the early 26 especially the first year 56, and odd ones like I mentioned , the sanitized M21 No., designation I am sure there are many more, hope someone comes by with more info. I think by the looks of it the M21 would probably be refurb if they ever showed up!

You mean both of the chicks on 2 broke girls. Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings , killer combo of blonde with legs and brunette with t!ts. Boom.
