I tried fitting my texas sks Mag adapter to my Chinese stock this Moring. I found out that the wood is Way to thin and weak. By the time I got the adapter to fit the stock...it just fell apart....aarrgg. Lesson learned. I think a Hard Wood stock would be the way to go, or After Market.

I will just put it back in the black synthetic stock. Who knew..lol. I'm probably the first person in Canada to try this.

My experience with Chinese rifles and conversions has not been happy.

There seems to be no single standard in their manufacture and often the pinned parts are exceedingly difficult to take apart. The wood stock is at issue here, but I believe you will discover other "variances" which will make this particular conversion a bit more challenging than a Russian rifle.

Ya, for sure the stock wont work. however, I found the adapter fit and worked great. zero issues there. Gun functions 100%.

Good.

The one we worked on was a late production Chinese and was significantly different than the Russian rifles. We did get it to work, but it took some careful thought to sort out all the little issues.

I imagine there are a lot of Chinese rifles out there that don't vary as much from the "standard" SKS.

Someone say Timbersmith? We have installed our AR-SKS mag adapters on just about every aftermarket stock made! Timbersmith SKS ####....

This is all I need! I just ordered four AR mags for my SKS and am impatiently waiting for the adapter to become available. I would liker to have these in hand before Mulcar and his band of bandits take over Ottawa. All we really need is another crooked politician from Quebec to run this country into the ground. Those stocks are sweet.

Take care

I didn't know you were looking for an SKS Bob, I gave another one away not long ago. Misty has a good deal on Russians and even had some mag adapters in stock (sold out now).

My 858 is off the prohib list so I'm not feelin' the need for an SKS...they are amazing rifles though. Bring yours out to the next match, we could set up another OTR course at the end.

Thanks Paul. I recently acquired an unfired Russian SKS. I am waiting for the AR Mag Adapter to become available so I can play 10 rds. Dennis and I just bought 2K of the Dominion ammo for the guns. I get tired of searching for my elusive reloadable brass but do enjoy shooting my lead cast bullets in the gun. Wicked at the 100 yard gong on the pistol range.

I'll bring my SKS out to our next shoot and we can bang away after the match. I still want an 858 but with the 10 round mags becoming usable the need is not there as much.

Dennis is coming to shoot the Postal Match so when he picks up his ammo I will let him know we are going to have a Iron Curtain blast off after the shoot.

Yessir - I'm not certain which mag adapters Misty had but they sold out so fast they must have been "real"?

Yup the SKS isn't gentle on brass - but not as bad as my Winchester 1907.

I'll take you guys on, stripper clips vs. mags.

Ah...... Paul that means I have to resort to Life Lesson # 39 in the book of aging:

"#39 Chicanery beats youth and skill every time!":)

Zoa I have za zecrit vepon you vill cee.
