Just picked up a Type 56 SKS, still in cosmo. Tried to take it apart to clean it and the magazine will not come out.

I have owned two SKS's before but both Russian so I was wondering if the Chinese did anything different with theirs.

Its also a mis-matched mag, probably got swapped when pinning. I wonder if it didn't fit properly and they just slammed it in?

Any help would be nice.

Are you using the official commie rifle armorers tool?

Joking aside, sometimes they can be very tight as the wood may have swelled. Give it some gentle persuasion with the above tool and a wooden dowel.

I tried lightly tapping it with a punch and hammer, no go. One thing is the action and mag is loose in the stock so its stuck on the action somehow.

Alright, sat down and finally managed to pull the magazine out. Took some mild persuasion with a small hammer and a punch.

Found the problem, the magazine is too long. When the front lug is engaged in the lip on the rifle, the back of the mag contacts the the rear. Easy solution would be file the front lug of the magazine down till a snug fit but not sure that;s a good idea.

Its a very tight fit, honestly, the person who put it back together after pinning must have had to put all there weight on it.

Opinions?

That's what they mean my "force matched", the magazines were forced in with a hammer. Once you've pounded it out with(wooden dowel and hammer as suggested) you will likely have to do a little dremeling or filing to get it to fit properly. I had the same issue with one of mine. Good luck.
