Hey guys,

I've recently been lucky enough to score myself a unissued and unfired Chinese SKS thats still wrapped up in all its cosmoline glory. If I was to resell it, what would the current worth be? I've looked around on the forum but most of the threads discussing this topic are outdated. Thanks in advance!

It wasn't long ago you could buy these for just under $200. Man I regret continually pushing off buying a 10 pack like planned lol. I think an ex CGN dealer found some in their warehouse after they dried up and sold them for $400 fairly quickly.

I got a great deal on a Russian SKS with a chrome lined barrel and all matching serial numbers for 150$ from a local gun shop that was going out of business a couple of years ago. (Frosty's Computers on the reservation near Montreal for anyone wondering. The only place you could go and buy a computer monitor, some RAM, and a firearm, all at the same time.)

I would imagine I can sell it at more than double I paid for it these days, but why would I want to do that? ;)

I'm looking for a nice SKS right now. Wouldn't pay more than 300 tops. Anymore and I'd get an SVT-40...so hard to convince the wife these are more important than a couch!

A former CGN dealer that had unscrupulous business practices (and was given the boot) seems to have Type 56 Chinese back in stock for $350. Apparently I'm still on their email list from when I bought something from them a while ago.

Yeah got the same email.
Had to get one though. Little more than I wanted to spend but hey it's only money.

Last of the chinese..... again?

I think they are sitting on a bunch and slowly releasing them at higher and higher prices.

Absolutely!

Sell enough to pay off initial investment.
Slowly release the leftovers at increased prices to maximize profit.

I wonder how long until they release some more?

I remember when they were $199. Every time I get a sale notice I have a game predicting the products. 9/10 are the same and I'm always shocked by a sale price or two.

Apparently the whole reason they stopped selling them was because the source wanted to up the unit cost to a point that would make them not sell at all. Based off what has happened recently I'm calling BS...again.

Price has gone up substantially. Also, the PLA is not in dire need of money right now and is not a motivated seller.

Yeah I saw that sale too and they sold out pretty quick. I agree with the rest of you though, they've advertised "Last of the bunch" quite a few times.
