norinco sks are $150-200 depending on the condition.

early chinese sks are $200-250 .

you can add on the value of used tapco stock.

I've got a nice Russian SKS for $199.50 yesterday... so I guess Chinese stuff is back to $150 or less... Marstar and others used to sell them (chinese) new for $168 and the price temporary went up when they stopped to do so... now, you can get a Russian one (much better quality) for slightly higher price...

I can get the Tapco stock locally for $99, and the SKS on CGN for $150'ish with some effort. $250-300 is a good price range, although expect alot less "nibbles" at $300.

I had the exact same stock on a Chinese 56. I wanted a CZ-858, so I sold the SKS to help fund it. If I remember right, I think I got around $300.00 for it. The Tapco stocks are fairly hard to get here in Canada, and are a real pain in the ass to put on (especially the gas tube handguard.) I had to get a trucker friend to bring it up from the states. Anyway, I think people will pay a little more to get one with the stock already affixed. Or so it seems to me, anyway.

You are correct, based on what I have heard from a friend who tried to buy from Kesselrings. In the U.S., foreigners are not allowed to buy or transport firearms, parts, ammo or reloading components. {Police will not stop foreigners and search ther cars for these items but if they see them in a search incidental to another event, say you are involved in a vehicular accident or traffic violation, then you are out of luck. You have broken the law. At least that is what I have been told.

You may find a store that will sell you the stock, but that may be because they are not familiar with U.S. laws.

Canada Customs will not allow the same into Canada. Scopes may be a gray area because I have had red dot sights mailed to me from the U.S. Took 6 weeks because according to the ebay seller, the scopes have to be verified that they are not "parts", at a firearms center. Stocks are definitely firearms parts, not an accessory.

AFAIK, Canada Customs has no problems with any of these, I'm only concerned with the US side. I can always ask my friends in the US to buy the stuff for me on the Internet, then go visit them & pick it up, but a US cop searching my car - that's another story... Thanks for your help!

P.S. I forgot to ask: looking at this link
w w w.mountsplus.com/miva/merchant.mvc?page=MSP/PROD/SKS_ACCESSORIES/STT-STK66166-XX
it doesn't seem like the scope mount is included, or is it?

I saw two SKS rifles at my range today, nicely dressed up with adjustable stock, the rail & scope. Nice-looking toy!
