chinese sks

I think Marstar is still selling them at below $200 until April 1st or something too. I think I got one of the last ones that was selling for $175 on Wolverines site. A day or two after I ordered mine it was gone from the product page. This was just around a week or so ago.

TI have a Russian one too, I don't know how it compares the Chinese "military" models yet, mine is still in the mail. I used to have one of those commercial Chinese Norinco ones back in 2006, bought it for $139. That thing functioned really well, but the stock, finish, and general quality feel sucked. Still fun to have both Chinese and Russian though.

If you come over to New Zealand, Gun City is still doing crazy deals.....

Don't know if this link will work, but you can buy TWENTY at a time. If you need to outfit the whole extended family, or as a gift for your neighbours. Nothing wrong with Chinese SKS's, mine is going great! Love that Hornady SST ammo....

So, I have to buy twenty SKS to get them at NZ $399 each. My currency converter tells me that is about CAD $ 380 each. OUCH!

I just bought an un-issued Chinese SKS for CAD $189 and a refurb Russian SKS for CAD $199 - both from SFRC.

Why would the SKS cost more than double the price in NZ as compared to Canada? I suspect that shipping costs would be similar....

Well, I bought my SKS from Gun City for $450....but they installed the Choate mount for free. I know that those fine folk at Gun City bring the SKS's in for $50 each- so their profit is, well, very good. While they made a profit off me on the rifle, I never buy anything else from them because they are such ripoffs. But I had to have a para Norc- and compared to a Mini-30 for around $1700.00, I reckon it was worth it. I buy as much as possible from the ol' interweb as it is wayyyy cheaper than the shops over here. Note: Gun City sells Norc AR-15's for NZ$1800.00!!!! And they sell heaps of those.

I just changed my mind- I love my suppressors too much! I am having one fitted to my SKS next week, already have an over barrel suppressor on my 7mm08 and it is awesome. Only 330grams. I had a suppressor on my Mini-14 and it worked great, I used it to cull wild turkeys and goats. They just couldn't figure out where the shots were coming from...until it was too late. I should never have sold that rig.....

Plus they are only 16 inches long. Paratrooper carbine and stupidly restricted. Ive never seen one of those. Lever sold factory 18.5" in the old days and thats as short as Ive got
