Just in case anybody was on the fence about the 1440 round crates of Chinese surplus x39 that Tradeex is selling, I got a chance to hammer off a few mags last night from my bulk order last month.

The stuff is completely copper washed and headstamped 31-64 (factory #31, 1964 I assume). The spam cans inside the crate I opened are marked 04-64.

All rounds fired with no issues and I shot a 10 round group ~4" at 50yds, off a front rest in poor lighting conditions using an 11.8" vz58 carbine. POI was almost exactly the same as the Czech stuff I have been using.

Overall, it was as good as the Czech ammo and has no laquer on the cases to gum up the chamber. I give it a big two thumbs up!:D

I'm on my second crate of it, and will likely order a third before too long. Some of the best surplus ammo I've ever shot in this caliber.

The first one I ordered was headstamped 31 71 and it was even actually pretty clean. Still corrosive, but not as smelly and powdery as other vintages I've fired. My second crate, headstamped the same as mmattockx's, is dirtier but still functions and shoots just as well. I'd definitely recommend it. The only real complaint I have is the "boxes" of 20 rounds the spam cans are packed with; they're not boxes, they're flimsy wrapping paper that rips and dumps all your ammo out of the package if you so much as give it a sharp stare. Hardly too big of a complaint, though, considering the quality of the ammo and what you pay for it.
