So this showed up in my Youtube feed. I don't speak Mandarin, so I couldn't get a whole lot out of it, but from what I gather it seems the Chinese have developed a new rifle in standard layout primarily for paratroopers.

just hope and pray that the RCMP don't think it's an "AK variant " and we shall be good to go.......should be as good sale as the Type 97....it's gonna be around 1000, and NR.....using AR mags..........better then CZ I say

hmm! it seems they say the gun is different than AK......because it uses 'upper and lower" design like AR15.......but mean while it's gas operate the entire rod and bolt like AK......

Wonder how much 5.8 would cost since it's not technically "surplus" yet, and to my knowledge no one other than China uses it.

As I hear tell they're playing that one pretty close to their chest. They don't want anyone else using their proprietary super bullet. Hence us getting the type 95 in 5.56mm rather than it's original chambering of 5.8mm.

one of the major points of 5.8 is that ......when other army invades China, they cant get proper Ammo by capturing Chinese armory or arsenal ....... so if they sell the major potential enemy (nato) the 5.8.......what is the point of 5.8....?

The Russians used to be fiercely possessive of their 5.45 x 39 round, but times have changed, especially when you see the number of AK74 clones floating around in the 'States.

I wager it will be that way for 5.8 Chinese as well one day.

Doesn't look like the folder version of the standard layout rifle is much shorter than the QBZ-95 bullpup. I wonder why the Chinese PLA would bother, since the QBZ bullpup is already pretty darned short.

After watching a few Syrian civil war videos of captured ammo maiming and killing their liberators, I'd think twice on the cap ammo doctrine.

They are speaking Mandarin in the clip dude

But in the whole video they didn't talk much about the gun itself

Just keep saying it has the folding stock and airborn prefer that over the T95

But didnt say why
