Bought a LB TDX and decided to buy the BadAce Tactical kit for it. I can't say enough good things about this kit. The carbon fibre sleeve fits like a glove, the sights are WAY better, and the rail is very well made.

However, the 4mm/16 screws that attach the plastic rails are not long enough for the BadAce aluminum one, and because you're only grabbing the first few threads, they're going to strip on you. I bought some longer screws, and they worked fine after some trimming, but the threads were pretty sloppy.

So, for sh1ts and giggles, I decided to go one step further. I would recommend the following mod to everyone who buys this kit:

Without redrilling, run a 6-48 bottoming tap into those holes nice and easy until you get all the way down. You can redrill if you want, but it's not necessary for this application. The result is really nice, tight, solid bond for a flat-head 6-48 scope base screw. This allows you to put the proper amount of torque (15-20 in lbs) on those bases without having to worry about stripping them.

Most of us have a bunch of these 6-48 screws lying around anyway, so why not use them to replace the crap Chiappa ships the rifle with.

Hope someone finds this helpful.

Does the carbon fibre foreend weigh less than the OG foreend?
Didn't weight it and compare to the stock configuration. Wasn't about weight for me - it was about taking off that dumb 4-sided plastic pic rail. It would be nice if they made one that was shorter and didn't cover the barrel. Guess a guy could cut the carbon fiber one down.

Still it's an improvement.
