Hi all
This is my first post here so go easy on me.I have 2 sks rifles and am planning on a third.First one is a tula 52 laminated and secon one is tula 54 solid birch stock.
I bought a choate scope mount for the second one because its nowhere near as good shape as the first.Just want to make it a project gun.My question is for whoever has mounted a choate mount. What scope have you used with it and how has it worked out.I know there are those who think its a sin....but hey...its mine after all.

Works great, has been on there for .....years.

The stripper clip option is nice to have with the short scope I agree.I'd like to know what that one is also.

It's a great mount. Now if you find yourself tearing your eye balls out trying to find the right tap bit for the screws it comes with, you can go to Lordco, get a 8-32NC tap bit and pick up some 8-32 x 3/8 screws and some thin washers to flush them with the inside of the receiver. That's what I used and it works great. Since I wanted to make it a permanent install, I used red lock-tite and made sure to use some between the washers as well. Rock solid.

Not tearing my eyes out lol.I work in a machine shop and we dont have 8-40.Texted a couple buddies from a few places I have worked over the years.....nope.So...gonna go 8-32 and loctite.

We did mine on Curtons den table. It worked great(thanks Tony!) it's been a great mount with no problems and holds zero. Check the stickies at top of forum. Just make sure you have room to get the BCG in and out. If you end up with a longer scope, I recommend using a removeable magazine for ease of loading

Thanks.....yeah still scope hunting.Have looked into the g9 mag adaptor in case I put a longer scope on it.Going to have fun with this rifle. My other one will stay original. Also will be keeping an eye out at Woodstock show on weekend.
