Does anyone here have one or have any experience with one? I'm thinking about getting one for my savage F/TR .308 because I hate the factory laminate stock and the choate seems to offer a lot for the price.
Thanks

I could PM you end of this week. just building a rifle with choate custom tactical and will be finished this or next week maybe.

I have two Choate stocks one is a tactical stock mounted on a savage long action the other is a custom tactical on a savage short action. Both stocks are a bit on the heavy side but they fit and work very well. For the money they are a good stock.

Yes I have a custom target stock on a stevens action, it has an aluminum bedding block and is a very solid stock with infinite adjustments. One problem you might encounter is your three screw action. Jerry (Mystic) will be able to answer if they make one now to accomodate it or if you have to make alterations.

I have a custom tactical on my Rem700 5R. I removed the HS precision to put the Choate on it. I LOVE IT! Like earlier said, it is heavy but works great. Being heavy, it helps to manage the recoil.. That being said though, you want it bedded because it fits the gun but not perfectly. Once the bedding done, wicked!

I can send you pics if you want.. just pm me.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the positives replies. After contacting mystic precision, I've decided to keep looking because I would like something to fit the target action and take advantage of all 3 action screws. Although I am thinking of getting a model 12 VLP DBM and like the idea of a choate custom tactical on that. Thanks again!
