I find the standard USMC Mil-Dots work fine for me.

Although I really like the Illuminated SPR reticle in the Leupy 1.5 X 5 M/RTs for close to medium ranges.

SKBY.

mildot comes to mind as a first option, but I'm into BDC (the cams not the reticle ) plus an added rangefinder . I'm talking about the MP9. the reticle is also illuminated..... thanks to the CGN-ers who helped me pick it.

It is basically a USMC M40A3 clone, with the following changes:

1. Jewel 1# Single stage trigger

2. 3 groove LILJA #7 Pattern Barrel 1/10 twist 24" with Brake.

3. US Optics BLACK "Canadian TPAL" SN-3 3.2-17x44 MIL EREK with Lit Horus H-25 reticle. John can put the H-25 reticle lit or unlit in any 17x USO variable. License fee and reticle cost is about US$400 extra. I now have 3 scopes with that reticle, 2 USO and 1 Horus scopes and I like it a lot. See simulator on Horus web site for application. This is basically the scope turned down by HMCF, which means that the S&B variable must be one hell of a great scope with the Premier reticle. (Canadian Snipers have earned the world's respect in my opinion!)

4. US Optics mount for Slotted action 20 degree down bubble base, with Badger 34mm Rings (and bottom metal of course).

5. Round is .308 Lapua Brass, 175 Berger Moly VLD, 210M, 43.1 Varget for 2626 fps, SD 6.

I have tried the Horus system and find it a bit cluttered. I would go for Leupold's Illuminated TMR

Frankly, that was my initial reaction and I was not as charitable to the system as your wording. However, having said that now I wouldn't have anything else.

This is more than a reticle. When combined with the Horus palm based software and a good range finder. it is an integrate fire control system.(It has on board MOA axis in quadrant 4 too, if you think in inches.)

Yeah, but you can also use a palm pilot and ExBal with any regular reticle and achieve the same result. Only difference is you're gonna have to dial the windage and elevation in
