i have almost finally got my choice of semi auto 223 narrowed down to the heckler & koch SL8 short ribbed.
i did get my hands on a tavor but not many zombies in my part of canada.
i was looking for a reliable semi auto and read horror stories concerning robinson arms
and others alike so went for HK.unless someone can pitch another at me.
main use will be close up wild boar(25yds to 200yds) and the occassional coyotee.

anyways i am now struggling for choice of scope.........
i have a meotopa 4-12x50 on my 223 BA and been fab
i have a S&B 8x56 on my 308...just love it

my choices are as follows
meotopa minox 3-15x50
zeiss conquest 4-14x50

read some quite nasty things about the meotopa falling apart
and some say zeiss just aint doing it.

anyone can throw any light on either for me please
no mention of leupold, bushnell etc as i am an european scope man
;)

If you're shooting game at 25-200 yards, a 1-4 or 1.5-5 maybe a 2-10 power scope would be my recommendation. Anything by Vortex/Leupold/Weaver would likely serve you well. The scopes you listed are far too powerful for close in hunting IMO.

Lots of choices out there depending upon your budget.

Leica 2.5-10
Steiner Predator 2.5-10
Swarovski.. something from the Z3 or Z5 line.
Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-10 (if you don't mind the illuminated center dot idea)
Zeiss Conquest Duralyt series

Last time I was at Wholesale Sports (Saskatoon store) they were clearing out their Kaps scopes.. nice glass but no idea on what nightmare the warranty/service might be like.

These guys carry the IOR line w ww.cssoptics.com/.. buy at your own risk as IOR has had issues in the past with both QC and warranty.

X2! If it comes to hunting dangerous game with under powered cartridge there are three important qualities scope should poses:
1. Wide field of view
2. Wide field of view
3. Wide field of view!
Aim for no less than 40ft/100yds at the lowest power setting.
