Hello, I just bought a Benelli Super Nova 12ga with 28" barrel. It comes with a full, IC and M chokes.

I plan on using the gun for ducks, geese, turkey, Deer and shooting some clays. I want to get the best chokes for each of these pursiuts.

Can anyone recommend proper chokes and manufactures?

Thanks

Sean

Stony your gun comes with "proper chokes" to do most any kind of shooting. As with all new guns and chokes you should go out in the country or to a range with some gear to see how your chokes pattern. But here's a safe bet, use you your IC for everything except turkey, including sporting clays. FS

One thing to beware of, even though most new FULL chokes say that it's safe to shoot steel out of them it is extremely hard on the barrels as steel does not compress the same way lead does out of a full choke. SO when hunting ducks and geese use a modified choke as your tightest choke. Save the Full choke for the Trap Range and Turkey shooting. Fassteel is right about patterning your gun though. it will give you a great understanding of where the shot is going in each type of ammo you use as well as the choke you're using. IC is great for everythign in tight and close like skeet and some sporting clays. Have fun with your Benelli. They are smooth operators!

You don't need to full choke steel anyway - as a rule of thumb step down a couple of choke sizes to get an equivalent pattern. E.g. full lead = mod steel.

Always trust the patterning board, not what's written on the choke. :)
