Hey all,

I have a rem 870 supermag and it has an interchangeable choke, I was shooting trap and after about 25 rounds the choke was half unscrewed and I have to keep screwing it tighter after I shoot for a bit. Is this normal? or is there a way to stop this?

Mine does that too i just check it once and a while... Really gotta check when ur shooting 3 inch slugs it loosens even faster... Check the mag tube lug too ive seen a vid of a guys barrel shooting right off because it was so loose hehe

Remove the choke and clean the barrel really really well. Use a worn out mechanics steel brush if necessary. Do your best to clean the groove at the bottom of the threads. Clean the exterior of the choke tube as well.

When you install the tube in the barrel, tighten it good-and-snug, don't over tighten but don't baby it either.

All I ever do is make sure they are lubed well and make sure they are tightened well.
have never had an issue with any of my chokes loosening off on a Remington or any other brand when they are lubed and tight to begiin with.
