choke for rifled slugs

I'm curious what choke i should be using when firing rifled slugs. I have heard some say that i am fine with an improved cylinder, and others who say i shouldn't use IC and use a cylinder choke.

Thoughts anyone?

The more open the better, but you're fine with an IC if that's what you have.

I use an IC choke on my 870 bear repellant and it works fine with slugs or 00 buck.

I'm sure smooth slug barrels are cylinder choke. I read that rifled slugs are a little undersized and can be used in any choke. I have used slugs in a full choke and had okay results as far as short range accuracy goes. I would suggest trying different choke/slug combinations and see which one your gun likes best.
