What do you like for choke tube lube, grease or oil and what brand? I find the official lubes with graphite too thick and messy. Trulock says to use a synthetic oil. What do you use? Thanks.

I've been using Ponsness-Warren's synthetic lube recommended for their shotshell presses for the past 10 years or so.

It's referred to by them as STOL ( supposedly "Slipperier than Owl S**t" ) ... and it works like a charm.

Before that, I used Kreighoff's blue grease, or the red stuff from Top Gun, both recommended as hinge pin lube.

... no choke tube issues - ever !

Been using AGS DOOR-EASE. Its a stainless stick lube used on door hinges to stop squeeks. A gunsmith friend told me about this -- I rub two narrow lines on the opposite sides of the threads. Chokes won't come loose during shooting or stick in for removal.
Cheers/luck, John
