Choked short barrel Shotty

Anyone know where you can get an 18-20" barreled shotgun with at least a modified choke, that comes with or can have a magazine extension added. Something like a defender or persuader, but choked? Know someone looking for one and all I can find is Cyl Bore ones. Thanks

Winchester used to make the camp defender with Winchokes. I hear their building the 1300 again so if you cant find one used, they may build one soon.

Turkey barrels are short, ~20" and threaded.

Installing tubes is probably the only way to go.

I think your only option with a fixed choke in the 18"-20" lengths would be a Remington. At that, the REM 18" barrels come with an IC constriction, unless it's a special order. Good luck with that buying only one gun.

Shorter, 14" REM Police barrels are made with a Modified constriction for better shot accountability, but good luck finding one of those these days. In fact my 14" is stamped MOD, but measures closer to an IC anyway.

The Camp Defender, if I'm not mistaken has an 18" barrel and sold with a WIC (Winchester Improved Cylinder) and came with 2 additional tubes; Cylinder and Modified chokes.

Mossbergs are Cylinder bore as well, I think, so you're hooped there.

Beretta 1201FP are for the most part CYL at those lengths and maybe IC if you could find one. Benelli and Fabarm, I don't know offhand. What else is there that's worthy.

Pretty much what I figured, short of finding a camp defender, or installing tubes hes SOL. I dont imagine he wants to spend a lot either. I suppose a mag extension could be added to a Rem turkey express, but Im not sure if that would suit him or not.

remington built an 870 special field model with a 22 inch barrel . the later models had screw in chokes. it is a light weight gun .standard 870 barrels will not fit this gun . i have seen them for sale on ee.worth looking into .

Hi, I have a Camp Defender, it has a 22" barrel and screw in choke tubes. It is a really sweet gun, but if 22" is a longer barrel length than your looking for it may not be worth it to find one. I don't know if they came in any other lengths or not as this is the only one I've ever seen.

He may settle for a 22 inch barrel, the problem is I think he wanted a new gun. I think maybe the best bet would be to keep and eye on the EE for a rem special field or camp defender.

Just buy a Norinco HP9 (14" barrel) and get a gunsmith to thread the barrel and install some Rem chokes.

I've had tubes installed in shortened 870 barrels in the past..... Last one was around a hundred bucks to convert I think??

The only guy I know who's very good keeps a pretty low profile.... Only takes on a little custom work now and then.... Maybe Epps???
