Could you shoot slugs and buckshot through a full choke ok? I have one screw in choke but its a full don't know if I should get another one for the rare time I shoot slugs

You may want to consider a cylinder choke. It is basically no choke but your threads for the choke are not affecting bullet flight. They are cheap compared to a blown up barrel.

Depending on the make of the gun it will determine what you should do...

If it's an 870, I would suggest buying a separate, cylinder barrel. This way you can pop it on when you are out blasting away and won't have any worries about choke selection. You can find them cheap on the EE.

If it's a gun where barrels cost a fair bit, I would suggest getting a C or IC choke to cut down costs.

"...through a full choke ok?..." Yes, but you'd be better to buy an IC tube. A Remington IC tube, for example, runs about $19.95, here in Ontario. $9.95 for the wrench.
Don't bother with buck shot. It's unreliable.

If you use a Foster or Brenneke type slug, you will be fine with a full choke. Those "fins" on those slugs are actually there to allow the slug to squeeze down to a full choke size, not to, which most people assume, give spin to the slug!

It also really depends on what your gun likes......some slugs may shoot fine though a Full choke, others may like a more open choke......you really need to experiment with your own firearm/slug/choke combo to see what works the best!

+1. I have seen a number references that modified is considered the most accurate choke with Foster slugs, but that will depend on each gun's preferences.

Thanks every one its a maverick 88 secuyrity I just had my gunsmith install a screw in choke and its a full. He didn't have anything else in stock

Better ask that gunsmith what "choke thread" he put in the gun, might not even be a mossberg thread and you may have to order a different choke manufacturer.

My personal 870 gets good slug accuracy using a modified choke tube in a 20" barrel. You have to test what works best with your own shotgun.

really depends on the slugs, the gun and the particular choke. you need to experiment.
foster (rifled) slugs are designed to swage through even a full choke - but depending on the gun they may shoot best through modified, or improved cylinder. in my experience (two cylinder bore 870s) they shoot worst through just a straight cylinder bore - which many tactical short barreled guns have :(
