1. Beretta 87T (22LR)
2. Beretta 92G Brigadier Elite II (9mm Luger)
3. S&W 686 L-frame adjustable front sights (357 mag/38 sp)

Which one would it be?

PS:
OK, ammo cost is not an issue. Just general feel/look/performance of the firearm.
Things like "stopping power - self defence" should not be considered.
Main purpose - recreational/fun/target shooting.

I have my preference... Just wanna know other people opinions.

.22 is not that fun to shot, but it's cheap

.357mag and even .38 can get pretty costly if you want to shoot a lot...

So 9mm IMO is the way to go; fun and cheap to shoot plus you can't go with Beretta 92

I also like S&W revolvers though...

If you're going to reload you'll want c, so you don't have to chase your brass. The 38/357 gives you more versatility as well.

I'm not slamming beretta's, the ones I've shot and seen shot have all functioned flawlessly, it's just personal preference. If I were to buy a 9mm it would probably be a Browning HP or a CZ 75 or 85 because I find they fit my hand better.

Out of those three, I still want an Elite II but the 686 is probably the best choice for target/plinking. 22lr gets old fast and you will always want to upgrade....

That said, if I wanted an accurate and fast plinker, I would sooner buy a Kimber or STI....

If it's for range shootin, the 686 should outperform the others on the paper groupings.

Beretta 92G Elite II would be the most fun.
S&W 686 would give you more load flexibility and longer range plinking.

Wheel Gun most flexible of the lot.

'C' most flexible gun of the lot. That L-frame can take full house .357 load for 100 meter RAM silhouette smacking or sub 2 inch @ 50 yard .38SPL Wadcutter hole punching precision shooting or 130PF .38+P SWC for practical
shooting (IDPA or IPSC) or NRA action pistol.

Not sure if what the where the rules put the adjustable front sight model of
the 686 in either IDPA or IPSC.

Good for: IMHSA (iron sights, you can pop a scope on it and shoot scoped
class), PPC (Open Class Revolver #3.2 or Any Centrefire #3.3), ISSF Centrefire Bullseye (bit heavy to shoot one handed, but not impossible, especially with a tricked out action), IDPA, IPSC and just Plinking.
Jack of all trades and competent to boot.

"92" is considered a Standard Service Pistol. Can be used in IDPA to shoot
in SSP class. Can be used in IPSC production class. Can be used to shoot normal PPC, but would be really difficult with fixed sights and beyond 25 yards. Ideal for PPC Service matches and Duty matches (< 25 yards).
