Hey CGNers,

I'd like a pistol grip with buttstock.

I found it difficult to hold my standard stock pointed with one arm as I load, as it torques my wrist. I'm hoping the handle of pistol grip will provide leverage.

I am wondering if you can recommend a model?

Solid dependability, proper sight alignment are a priority.

(foldability, collapsibility not needed.. although adjusting for LOP for different users might be nice.
Recoil dampening would be be nice but not necssary)

These are the ones I was looking at in the local gunshop:

-ATI non folding talon 6 position stock
-ATI non folding 6 position collapsible
-Remington Sure Shot

Thanks for your advice.

I think there's value added for having an adjustable LOP, since not everyone's built the same, the fixed stock may just be too long for you. I like the Mesa Tactical LEO kit (here), or there's the NEA adaptor (here) I like these types of adaptor, since you can select grips and stocks that work better for you, or suit your taste. Sometimes with fixed grips, the ergonomics just don't work with your hands, so being able to swap that out for something like a Magpul MIAD or an Ergo Grip kit is a good option too.

The beauty of the 870 is that there are lots of options

I have the Knoxx Spec Ops stock. It feels solid with good adjustability. I did not seem to notice the recoil absorbtion too much though.

I used a knoxx recoil stock for some time. You can adjust the length when needed. I'm not so much a pistol grip on a shotgun fan, however. I can pull of shots faster with a regular stock... and the recoil absorbtion is really noticable with magnum loads.
