Looking for some help and advice

I've been looking for a 1st gun and currently looking at the remington 770

but can't decide between .270, .308 or 30-06

i don't want something with a heavy kick everytime

last gun I fired was a old 303 rifle so hard to compare

Are you hunting or target shooting?

All work for either but if solely for hunting, out of those, I'd go 30-06.

Felt recoil from any of you choices will be quite stout especially with a light synthetic stock.

the .308 is probably your best bet for a low-recoil hunting rifle
if you're looking to just shoot buy yourself a sks, the gun and ammunition are as cheap as it gets

Depending on how much past experience you have, I'd suggest a nice little .22LR before you start hunting. If you've grown up shooting rifles, then you can step it up. Regardless, a .22LR can provide some really cheap and fun practice.

Remember, my advice, your call!

Cheers,
Sand
