Hello everyone!

My rpal should show up in the mail any day and it's time to choose my first AR. I've done my research on many brands. My only experience with an AR was 5 shots out of a buddies Norc. Unfortunately I can only spend a max of $1300 with shipping and taxes included. I would like to keep it close to 1000 but i have looked at the Norinco, Core15, Spikes, NEA, Stag. Will be using at 50, 100 and 200 yards outdoors. I want a good experience with little-to-no issues on function.

(An important selling point would be if i can use CMMG .22 conv kit in the future)

Thanks!

Any direct-impingement 5.56 AR can use the CMMG kit, but if you DO use a .22 kit, you might want to opt for a slower twist rate like 1:9 or 1:12...

The rest of your question is addressed in at least 2 or 3 threads asking the same question on the first page of this sub-forum. Go read those threads first IMHO.

Thanks for the quick reply! that's good to know about the CMMG, but i have read nearly every thread I've come across. It seems, the Norinco works every time the trigger is pulled with no mods, no one has anything on the core15, stag sounds top-of-the-line, and NEA (is or has) worked out the bugs?

Here is another example of thread a few below yours with much of same question/criteria
