What have you DIY-types done? I'm looking to keep it on the cheap side as this is going to be a range/ bush gun, nothing fancy.
What low-cost-do-it-yourself options are there? Pictures are welcome and encouraged.

Thanks, WRH

Your local gun shop can put a bead or fibre optic front sight for cheap. I had one put on it was $30. You could do it yourself. There are also a variety of other options, like magnetic or glued on, but they are poor choices IMO

I went with one of these 'HI VIZ' sights - supposed to be magnetic, but I used a couple of drops of epoxy as well. I like it WAY more than a bead. I've used it a couple of years now, and no problems.

We have a winner! That's just what I wanted. Where can I find these sights?

I chopped down a couple express VR barrels over the yrs.

I drilled and tapped a hole in the VR where it meets the support leg and used a large stainless allen head cap screw. Makes for a nice big "bead" that is very easy to pick up and the height makes the shorter barrel shoot to point of aim as the shorter barrels tend to shoot high with a regular bead.
The stainless screw head picks up light well, is snag free and ridiculously sturdy....and it cost about .89c to complete!
