Christina Lake, AB Moose Hunting

Late season is a tough hunt. By November, the early season draw hunters have pounded their bulls and the local residents of the reserves have taken a fair amount of everything. Bulls tend to be in the remote out of the way thick ####e by this time. You could get lucky I guess, but I hunted the area for 5 years and while I always got my deer, I never even SAW a legal moose during the November season.

I've hunted that area for years. sjemac is right in the sense that the bulls in the late season are bedded down in the thickest tightest s**t you've ever seen. I've hunted both the calling and the late season. the key to success it seems in the late season is hoping for a windy day to get the moose out in the open patches and clearings so they can see. since they can't hear anything in the thick stuff with the wind blowing and also making ALOT of miles. travel like hell find fresh tracks. they should be near by. late season they don't tend to move much after they find feed. hope that helps

That particular area does not have a lot of moose per sqkm, but they are localized and can be had.
Been hunting this area off and on for 30 or so years.
