Chrome/Moly Finish

Novice here ... need your expertise! I have a virgin chrome/moly barrel that I would like to finish in black. Suggestions regarding what products are the best ... can be purchased in Canada, and that will give good results when applied by a careful novice.

Parkerizing is what I believe you want (as the simplist method to coat your barrel). There are various formulas which will vary darkness.

Radocy is the popular brand here.

Alternatively, you may opt to Duracoat, Gunkote or similar.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction...One issue that comes to mind with either the "parkerizing" or any of the coating processes involving heat, is what effect heat has on the action in terms of the potential to "warp"...
Also, how is the barrel "sealed" to insure nothing gets in there which could result in damage?
