Chromed Lee Enfield Mk IV for $1400?

Saw this original looking Lee Enfield, with full wood furniture, stock except it had a different style of rear sight that was further up the barrel (I'm not a LE expert, so this may not be unsual). The only difference I could see what the metal was full chromed.

I handled it and it seemed in reasonable condition, with the bolt working easily.

This was at my LGS and it was on consignment. Would $1,450 be a reasonable price? It seems like a lot to me, for one that isn't "pure" or a sniper version. They had a sporterized one for $145.
 
I can't see it having any collector value if it's not original and stock. So that would make it a shiny shooter. Worth $1450? To some, I suppose.
 
At that price your buying a looker not a shooter. Personally I wouldn't buy it (chrome doesn't interest me in the slightest, and as mentioned there is no collector value), but that being said its your money.
 
There was one of those for sale at Cabelas about a year ago. Apparently it was an ex-ceremonial version, used for guards of honour etc. I can't remember the exact price but remember it seeming very reasonable which would probably make it somewhere around $500.
