Chronies - RCBS Ammo Master or Shooters Beta?

These two are pretty close in terms of price and data captured. The RCBS has a remote display, the Shooters has 5 year warranty (RCBS 1 year).

Any experience as to how well each work, likes, dislikes...

I have The base model shooters chrony, it works good for $100. I wouldnt spend too much as you are shooting a bullet within 4-6 inches from the unit.

I have the Beta Chrony, has always worked fine, wish I would have got the remote model, when shooting at a busy range it's a PITA to have to wait for all clear so you can go push the reset button.

I use an F-1 Master. Remote readout is great. Got it direct from Chrony, about $130.

I'm giving very serious consideration to the RCBS AmmoMaster. Only one thing holding me back. Saving my mad money until after the gun show in Duncan on the 18th, just incase I see something I can't live without, again.

I have all the Chrony models. I really like the model that allows ypu to shoot a string of shots and then get a read out of Av vel, SD, Extreme variation

Brain sits on the bench, only sensors and sky screens are sitting on the tripod.

I have the blue chrony, beta I think. It's annoying to use. I need to buy that thing that allows me to hook it up to my labtop.

I have only so long between shots on the string, annoying when I'm chronying airguns and I have to #### and reload.

when I want to look at my results, it gives a code, then a number, then a code, then a number, etc...etc.. too fast to write them all down. So I have to wait, then run the sequence all over again, looking for the numbers that are important to me.

The display blows goats, in other words, and the two button interface also blows, and the instruction are obfusticate.

Now, I'm in a wheelchair, so running back and forth to check the numbers irritates me alot more than it might irritate you, so your mileage may vary.

So how do you really feel about the Beta?

A good tip I received w.r.t. shooting within inches of the unit was to place a target directly behind the screens (and not try for 200m groups at the same time).

I like my Chrony Gama . Has printer & computer software Was the top of the line from chrony when i got it last yr . New in box on E-bay . If I remember right I paid around $125 US
