Chronograph buying advice

I'm not trying to single you out (not trying to call you out).

But how could a Magnetospeed possibly change a point of impact ?
Honestly I can not see how it could ever change POI unless actually contacted the device itself.

Has this been tested?

My thinking is that when the bullet leaves the very tip of barrel, the ONLY thing that could possibly alter PIO would be a change (I.e. damage) to the crowning of the barrel ?

Wouldn't the shock wave of the projectile will always be behind the projectile itself (at least until the projectile became sub-sonic) ?

Barrel harmonics. Hang something on your barrel you change everything. Poi and group size can go all over the place.

My first chony was a Shooting Chony Beta …. this was before Magnetospeed and Lab Radar were around.

I acquired a Magnetospeed a couple months ago (in lieu of a Lab Radar).
Below is why I chose the Magneto over Lab Radar....

I shoot in F class.. which means I shoot in a prone position.
A couple of years ago my buddy bought a Lab Radar.
We found that it worked great and flawless for us from shooting on a bench (i.e. elevated off the ground).

However, when I went down on the mat to the ground at my local range in Regina ...the Lab Radar would not pick up ANY of my shots (not matter how we adjusted it).

However, I have seen other guys in F Class use a Radar on the line during practices and matches at the North Star Range at Nokomis, Sk.

I am of the thinking (this is strictly my hypothesis) that the radar will not function when close to the ground.

My local range is flat elevation (and might explain why the Radar crapped out).. but the Nokomis has shooting berms which probably creates a 4 to 6 foot gap from the ground.

I have not used my Magnetospeed since I acquired it 2 months ago, but I am certain that it will perform brilliantly given my shooting style (i.e. proned out)

Mine works fine from prone.

Just taking a stab at this, but, if the grass and weeds were cut at ranges, would Labradar respond more effectively, when prone shooting, ?

It will, no issues.
