Looking for information/feedback/value of 12 gauge over/under shotgun marked Churchill by Kassnar. I've been told by the shop owner that is a Monarch model EJ. It's a 3" magnum. It is in very good/excellant condition
although the wood part of the forend has about 1/4" of "play" fore and aft . The hinge itself and lockup are tight. We also couldn't get it to takedown. Pulling the takedown slide located in the forearm forward only allowed the wood portion of the forearm to be removed. I am familiar with the takedown procedures for most hinge action shotguns. I'm looking for a moderately priced 12 to shoot informal trap this summer. Thanks for any feedback.

They were part of the Dairm Group. In general they were Junk -- soft springs & firing pins. They most certantly will not stand up to the rigors of trap shooting. Look at Biakals if you want a inexpensive gun for trap -- they are built like a tank.
