.... Any suggestions for an "peep-sight" that's inexpensive and easy to mount on the a/n single shot rifle ? I'd like to use it, with a shortened stock, to introduce my daughter to the joys of hunting the elusive paper-target, and an accurate, single shot rimfire seems the best way to go ! In advance, thanks ! ..... (factory sights to start, then peep and finally, a 'scope is the way I'd planned it ) ...... David K.

I just bought one of these used myself. Did yours not come with peep sight's?

It'd be easy to mount a scope or other peep sights with the dovetail slot's on the gun. The factory one slids right off easily. I'd maybe like to try different peep sight's myself because everthing is do dark looking through the one's on the gun unless there's white paper around the edge of the target. I'd be useless for hunting in the bush! (Bad eyesight?)

I'd also like to know what's recommended and where to buy it. Lyman? Williams? Other's? What size sight apertures?

... It's got a "target type" foresight, and spring steel (high!) rear sight with a sliding range adjustment. The barrel is deeply notched to accomodate the rear sight. With the factory grooves in the upper receiver, scope mounting would be easy if the rear sight were removed. Since it's going to be used to introduce my daughter to shooting, I'd like to be able to have her use all three of the basic sighting systems, with the scope being the last. Guess it's a case of checking out the used Williams etc. "peep" sights for something that I can adapt ! Now, I'm refinishing the stock and repairing the dings/broken toe on the stock and applying an oil finish before the spring ! ....David K.l

Good peep sight's on a .22 is a great way to pre-introduce your kids to the style of shooting with the gun's they use in the junior rifle club here where they also teach the hunter safety training.

One of these days I gotta find out which model Anschutz they're using.

Someday, when I can afford it, I may buy a more pricey Anschutz or perhaps an upper end used one...

K-98 - I like your CIL-180. I'd like to find one myself - where did you get it?

I had gotten it from here...

I think Elwood epps had one a little while ago for under $200 if memory serves me correctly but I believe that one is sold now.

There may still be one here. I think it's probably the same gun. Otherwise i'm not sure who has one.
Anschutz single shot 22 mod 180, with factory micrometer peep sight, $299

Hit the local gun stores and gun shows. You can find them for around the $50 or so range.

There is a target style aperture made by Gamo that is a reasonable price, around $60.
The same sight badged as Crosman:

The same sight badged as Daisy:

Then there are the Williams sights.
The FP-GR

and the FP-AG

The WGR 54 would probably fit

It has to slide on from the end of the dovetail.
They might require a higher front sight.

And the Beeman rebadged Williams sight.

Since all these senseless gun control laws and restrictions far fewer places even bother to carry guns and I can't even buy anything but airguns in the hardware stores in my town and the nearest place to buy them is 90 miles away in The Pas and their selection ain't even that great either.

Now I have no choice but to take a chance buying online, sight unseen. :(
