I'm doing some searching and not much info is coming up other than imported by CIL. Would anyone have some more history around the CIL 190 Anschutz 22 rifles? I have the option of picking one up for 150 dollars, would that be a fair price? How would they shoot?

That would be a less than fair price I would think if it's not a hunk of rust.
I'd buy it before the seller changes his mind!

$150 is not buying you much nowadays.
In case you don't like it you can easily get your money back.

Value depends a lot on condition. There is one listed sold on
firearmscanada with an asking price of $600 so that gives you a bit of an idea.

Single shot, made by Anschutz for and imported by CIL (a Canadian company that use to make ammo and now paint), not much more to say. The one thing about these 190s is that they were designated entry level target rifles so the fit and finish and accuracy is a bit better than the average hunter line and they do have a following. My wife has a couple in her collection and depending on condition and what type of sights it has on it, the price range is between $200 to $300. I recently sold a CIL 111 with original Anschutz globe style front and Doppler rear sights in very good condition for $240. Thought I might have gotten $300 for it but I was realistic because I purchased it for $130 from a site sponsor. I don't think that those rifles exist in the low to mid $100 range any more so $150 is a good price in good condition.

If that is a true 190 take it and run!
the 190 was built on the 64 action with a target rifle stock as opposed to the 180 which was made with a sporter stock .

The 111 is a far cry from a 190 .

when CIL was in business in the mid 60's to 70's , 90% of the rifles on the line at the Nationals in the sporting rifle class were 190's - I know because I was there!

True but the point is that I sold a 111 but on the same vein no one is knocking down my door with $600 or even $300 for my wife's minty 190.

My 190 has a barrel stamped by CIL but the receiver is actually stamped Made in Germany by Anschutz. I was under the impression that the firearms were actually assembled in Montreal, but I guess CIL was just the importer. Neat.

Mine was purchased by my Grandfather in 1969. From what I understand for an excellent condition complete with sights would be worth over $400. $150 would be a bargain.

A 190 in very good condition with sights tends to sell in the $500-$600 range from my experience.

Agree, the $300.00 quote given for a 190 if in quite nice condition is extremely low. Might be in the ball park for an average condition gun or one that is missing sights. The $600.00 range is possible if the gun's condition warrants it.

$150 is a screaming deal if it is in good shape, especially if it still has the aperture target sights.

Yes if it has sights and is clean, run to buy it, it will please you every time you shoot it.

+1. My 190 is one of my favorite rimfires and goes to the range with me almost every trip. Gratuitous picture of said rifle:

That's what they were when I bought mine a number of years ago.

The local gun shop had one for $700 recently. It sold in under 2 weeks. In my experience they are getting hard to find for less than $550 if in good condition.

I paid $750 for mine, 4 years ago, and with time and experience I'm very glad I did. They're very accurate, easily the most accurate rifle I've ever fired, except for a more expensive Anschutz built on the Match 54 action. The 190 is on a Match 64 action, which is more than good enough for me.
