I'm hoping some of my CGN brothers can help me out with this issue. I recently purchased a Remington 812 in 28 gauge, same as a CIL 402 and CBC 151 I believe. I think it is the same frame as the 410. This gun was missing the ejector spring and plunger. I got the parts from Numrich, but I can't get them in place. Any advice would be appreciated.

The parts are right, I think the spring is too long, maybe, but i don't know how to install them. I can't get the spring compressed enough to get the plunger where it needs to be.

You’ll notice the spring guide rod has a hole in it. Compress the spring in a vice on the guide rod until you are past the hole. Use a slave pin to hold the spring until placed in the barrel lump and all parts are situated. Release the spring.

Gunrunner, I tried that, but the spring won't compress that far. I think I might have to shorten the spring? Not sure how to do that, just a hack saw I guess.

Update: I shortened the spring just a hair, but that allowed me to get the slave pin in place. Still had to put the barrel in a vice and use the biggest screwdriver I could find to push the ejector plunger into place but it worked. Thanks gunrunner!
