Hi guys, I don't usually hang around in this forum, but I have a question for you Anschutz aficianados here. I have recently aquired an a CIL imported Anschutz Model 190 single shot target rifle. It has a really nice set of Anschutz sights on it. I am wondering what the value of this rifle would be. It is in fair condition. The stock needs refinishing and there is some very light surface rust on the barrel/action. The rear sight is missing the aperature as well. I am not really familiar with these rifles or the history behind them and am looking for a little info on it. Also interested in finding an aperature for the rear sight.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Cheers, YC

In great condition they go for ~$500 plus shipping. As you describe yours I would say maybe $350-$375. I paid around $500 shipped (I don't recall exactly) for this one in early 2011:

I picked up one with redfield Olympic sights in good condition(not quite as nice as the one above but no dings or rust) for $325. Try ebay for sight parts.

Thats is the exact same rifle as mine Mark, only yours looks a whole lot nicer than mine does! Now I know what I am looking for on the rear sight. I think this rifle, once fixed up, will make a great starter rifle for my little guy.

Were these a very popular rifle in Canada? Were many imported?

I very much appreciate the input fellas.

They were very popular as club guns, starter rifles for target shooting and the cadets still use them for biathlon training. They are built on the Anchutz 64 actions. They are very good rifles but not top rung rifles.

Around $500 for a rifle in very good condition is fair.

They make a great starter rifle, light, accurate with a nice trigger. Ours gets used by kids of all ages. ;) One hint is to start with a larger aperture rear sight, it makes it easier for very young kids to acquire a good sight image when starting out.

I agree Sandroad!

There a a few people that haver these listed for $600-900 plus shipping. I think the will have them for a while and a lot of BTT.
You ca get a 54 action for that kind of money!

Bumping the thread with this question:

What is the current value of a CIL Model 190S (DuckDuckGo that, see "images") in good condition, with Anschutz sights, minor finish wear on the pistol grip heel and minor dents/dings on the bottom of the butt? Handstop and sling included. This is the Anschutz style stock with the flat bottom and rail for the handstop, a rather upright pistol grip, nice stippling in the grip area. Nice dark walnut, it looks like to me. No pics yet, sorry.

Ballpark guesses welcome.

My guess would be in the $500-600 range although people are listing them for more in the EE but they aren't selling. I have sold 2-3 and still have a couple. They seem to rising in value like everything else.

These rifles are made by Anschutz and were imported by CIL (Canadian Industries Limited) from the mid-sixties into the mid-to-late-seventies. Stocks are beech. The sights offered changed over time as did the trigger. Most triggers will likely be the Anschutz 5057, adjustable for trigger pressure, sear engagement and overtravel. It can be adjusted down to about two pounds.

About six or seven have been put up for sale on the EE in this calendar year. Asking prices ranged from $550 to $800, although the actual selling prices are not known. The most common asking price was around $675. Reasonable prices vary with condition, of course.

Lowe160, grauhanen, and diopter:

Thanks very much, it's definitely the S model (middle one of grauhanens pics, and the first 3 of diopters).

Now I have an idea of value, as the threads I could find were dated.

I paid $800 (to Accuracy Plus) for a very nice one about four years ago and have never regretted it. It'll be a long, long time before I deserve anything better.
