Would a CIL 125 or 300 or other model be a good gun or should I hold out and wait for and Anschutz? Or is Brno better? Thinking of target shooting, I already have a hunting gun. Is there some place I can go to find pictues of the different models of these 3 brands of guns?

Thanks, Chad

A C.I.L. 310 is a great rifle, one of the best but the 125 is not as good as the brnos IMHO.

The C.I.L.'s are OEM by Anschutz, and are basicly the same rifles.
Franchi also made a semi auto for them for a while, and it was a fine rifle, but the Anschutz semis are not reliable for the most part.

I know one guy who shoots in silhouette matches, and when he bought his new CZ Varmint, everyone laughed at him when he pulled it out. I guess these guys had Anschutz and similar rifles. but you know what? He won top spot.
How many times?
Anschutz rules the roost!
Although there are other good makes out there, Anshcutz is the udisputed king of smallbore target rifles.
There records speak for themselves...

For a starter gun any of the 300's CIL anschutz work great. All the ones I've seen have sporter weight barrels. Just make sure everythings there and is working. Anschutz/Savages are also very nice. These will all be used.

Nothing wrong with the Brno's/CZ's. With a tuned trigger they hold their own against any of the above.

From then on it's a big jump for anything better.

GRiNGo:

Try www.rimfirecentral.com . Go to the CZ forum. There is a spot for show me your brno. There's lots of pics on brno 22's. The brno #3 and #4 will be your target guns. All kinds on info on RFC on the annies as well. These guys really know their stuff. The cil 125 is a sporter gun , shoot very well. The brnos will cost less than the annies in general. Supply on the other hand may not be all that great. Do a search on this forum and some brno #3 and #4 should come up. I did see a #5 brno with redfield target sights on it recently on this forum EE, don't know anythink of it personally but it did look interesting. Keep us informed on your search----Cowboy

Just so nobody gets confused here a CIL/Anschutz 300 is a semi and a CIL/Anschutz 310 is a bolt action. They're both sporter gun's with leaf sights in front of the receiver. The CIL/Anschutz 180 and 190 are sporter weight target guns with peep sights.

GRiNGo are you looking for a sporter weight, or a heavy barreled target weight gun? New or used? Are you intending on using an aperture sight or a scope? Competing, or target shooting just for fun?

Howdy,
If you want to get into serious shooting go w. an Anschutz 64 or better yet 54 type action. They shoot well. Must say though, that the CZ's have done well locally too. Methinks it is the shooter! At our club shoots I'd say that 90%+ are Annies in various models.

I would like a heavy barrel with scope and just for fun tarrget shooting. I'm just kinda starting to look, no rush. I have a 10/22 that I ordered a Green Mountain 20 inch fluted stainless barrel for. I will probably start with this and as you all will probably tell me out grow it's accuracy and move to a Bruno,CIL,Anny. But the 10/22 will I'm sure be my favorite gofer gun.

I know this will make you sick, but last year I ran into a heavy barrel Anschutz, don't know what model, and the guy wanted $175. I didn't know anything about anschutz so I missed out. Dumb Ass!

Thanks, I was not aware of that. I just knew there was a few models in the 300 no.s that are bolt sporters like the 310,315,320. Didn't know there was a 300 semi. auto.

Gringo,
Ruger 10/22 can be real fun. They can be tweaked into good shooters, but keep an eye on the $$; they can add up real fast. Too bad about missing the Annie HB; we've all missed one good deal or another. If nothing else it serves as a learning experience. If you are interested in an Annie 180 w. target sights, decent shape, I saw one at a show awhile back. If you are interested drop me a PM. I will see if I can track it down for you. It was going for $200, I think.
